Do you Know

Shreenathji is Lord Krishna in the form of a child lifting Govardhan Hill to protect devotees from heavy rains sent by Indra. Centuries later, this sacred idol appeared from Govardhan Hill and was worshipped there. During Mughal times, devotees shifted the idol to Rajasthan, and when the chariot stopped at Nathdwara, it would not move further — believed to be Krishna’s wish to stay. Since then, Shreenathji resides in Nathdwara and is lovingly worshipped as a living child of the devotees.
